The Queen’s Beasts 2021 Kilo Silver Bullion Coin
Statues of ten heraldic beasts stood guard at the entrance to Westminster Abbey as the world watched the coronation of Her Majesty The Queen in 1953. Those creatures have been reimagined on the coins in The Queen’s Beasts Collection, which tell the stories of ancient symbols of ancestry and power through a series of designs by Jody Clark.
Now, in the final design for this popular bullion collection, all ten beasts are united in a protective circle around Her Majesty The Queen, making it the only coin to feature the beasts and the monarch they represent in one regal design. The obverse features the artist’s definitive coinage portrait of Her Majesty and together, these designs are a fitting tribute to complete this iconic collection.
The completer coin is the only coin in the series to unite all ten beasts with the monarch whose heritage they represent in one unique design. This creates a direct connection to their role in the celebration of Her Majesty’s coronation in 1953.
This popular series featuring contemporary coin designs by Jody Clark now draws to a close with the Queen’s Beasts Completer Coin. It is a fitting conclusion to an iconic bullion coin collection.
What are the Queens Beasts?
The Queen’s Beasts are ten legendary creatures who symbolise the historic ancestry of Her Majesty The Queen. As a set of ten statues, each statue bears the shield or crest of the family they represented. They all stood guard outside Westminster Abbey in 1953 during the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. As The Queen’s Beasts Collection, their mythical stories have been reimagined for the twenty-first century in a series of ten popular coin designs by the celebrated designer Jody Clark.
